A number of elite colleges have begun installing vending machines to dispense Plan B, a so-called “emergency contraceptive” that can end the life of a fertilized embryo. The pills have been available over the counter for years, and student health clinics frequently provide them free of charge. But for many students that’s not enough. They need access to the pills at any time of the day or night, and they don’t want to look someone in the eye to ask for it.

Instead of training students to become responsible and virtuous adults, college campuses have often devolved into incubators for vice and godlessness. These vending machines are just the latest depressing episode. Can you imagine anything more trivializing? “Would you like to abort your baby?” is apparently no different than asking “Would you like a Diet Coke and some potato chips?”

For just a few bucks and a short shuffle to the vending machine, 18-year-olds can now engage in chemical warfare against an unborn child. Coming soon to a campus near you.

God, we ask that you would open the eyes of students and campus administrators to see the evil of abortion. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we ask that you would bring about repentance and revival on college campuses. Use your church to accomplish this mission of bringing light to such dark places by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May we model what we preach, valuing every human life as precious in your sight.
